Foxleigh, Berkshire

Spring 2018

Foxleigh is a how-to for choosing lighting that bonds a majestic country house with its contemporary extension. We worked with Lisa Pemberton Architects to deliver a modern look that still feels cosy.

About the project

What we did.

Downlights are kept to a minimum in the new, modern rustic-style kitchen slash family room because illuminating sloping ceilings and feature walls without downlights maximises interest. Instead we colour matched the majestic kitchen pendants and elegant up-and-down wall light with a discreet wall mounted linear profile on the stunning brick feature wall. Subtle Flexalighting Tera 6 IP67 recessed floor uplights highlight the unusual angles of the roof while a select few Eiger 1R LED recessed adjustable plaster in downlights provide task lighting when needed. Outside, Flexalighting Aloha 6 IP65 exterior spotlights and Flexalighting Tera 7 IP67 recessed floor uplights pick out shrubs in the garden, while portable rechargeable lamps - Tetatet by Davide Groppi and FollowMe by Marset – give the patio dining table an atmospheric glow.
