What we did.

So what went down?

The subtle lines of integrated mood lighting around the projector area at the back of the room were achieved by installing a combination of Profilelement DSL plaster in profile and DLD Topline 15 aluminium profile and inserting DLD Lightflow 24V 9.6W 2700K and DLD Lightflow 12V 4.8 w 2700k linear LED tape. Combined with the 9010 Basic 4180 plaster in downlights above the seating area, this creates a comfortable ambient atmosphere for the family and their guests as they settle down with their popcorn.

The unit surrounding the projector screen itself contains some lovely subtle niche lighting, DLD Saturn 4W downlights, housed within the shelves. This highlights little finishing touches like decorative objects and houseplants - small details which make the space pleasant to look at even in between movies.

Matt and Owen ensured the client found the lighting easy to use by putting it on a Rako lighting control system. This was then integrated into a full RTI custom home automation control system which means they can control their entire home entertainment system at the touch of a button. 

The verdict?

This stunning project not only won ‘Installation of the Month’ from Artcoustic loudspeakers, it was also pronounced 'Winner, Best Media Room EMEA Level II' at the 2018 CEDIA Awards. So quite a success all round!
